Happiness is a state of mind - an underlying sense of contentment, fulfilment and satisfaction in life
Ways to achieve happiness:
· Giving - doing kind things for others.
· Relating – connecting with people.
· Awareness – living life mindfully.
· Resilience – finding ways to bounce back.
· Acceptance – be comfortable with who you are
· Reduces risk of anxiety.
· Reduces stress level.
· Induces better sleep at night.
· Creates positive attitude.
In practicing meditation for joy and happiness we are creating the conditions necessary to experience a happy state of mind.

Happiness is not determined by what’s happening around you but rather what’s happening within you.
Happiness from the scientific bent of mind:
· It thickens the major areas of the brain that helps one cope with uncomfortable situations.
· It shrinks Amygdala- the part of the brain that is activated when one experiences stress.
